ARMAND M. CARLUCCI

January 15, 1925 ~ July 18, 2016 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Armand M. Carlucci, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away on July 18, 2016 at the age of 91.

He was born on January 15, 1925 in Conneaut, the son of Michael and Beatrice (Iagallo) Carlucci. A lifelong Conneaut resident, he graduated from Conneaut High school in 1942.

Armand served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard a Destroyer Escort in the South Pacific, which participated in the invasions of the Philippines, Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the bombardment of the Japanese Northern coast.

He married Rita J. Petten on July 3, 1948 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio.

Armand was employed as a machinist with the former N.K.P. Railroad, RMI Titanium and retired from the P&C Dock Co. in January 1987. He played fast pitch softball with the former N.K.P. Railroad team.

Armand was actively involved with the Democratic Party and served as a Conneaut Zoning Inspector for 5A½ years and City Councilman for 4A½ years. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Historical Society and the Moose Club.

Armand enjoyed his family, golfing, playing cards, dancing, traveling to his U.S. Navy ship reunions and spending winters in Naples, Florida with his wife Rita.

Armand is survived by four daughters, Linda Barron of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy (Ray) Smith of Fairview Park, Ohio, Cathy (George G.) Hlifka of Leroy Township, Ohio, and Patti (Jamie) Bonini of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Caroline Bonini and Larissa Barron, one grandson, Jay Bonini, two step grandsons, Matthew and Cory Smith, and a great nephew, Donald Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rita, his parents, a sister, Antoinette Brooks, and nephew Ronald Brooks.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Raisian Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut, Ohio.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, 10:00 am at Corpus Christi (St. Frances Cabrini Church) with Father Phillip Miller Officiating with a burial service immediately following the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20 in Conneaut, Ohio, where the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve or Corpus Christi Parish Capital Improvement Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Villa at the Lake (Conneaut, Ohio), Barrington Terrace (Naples, Florida) and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for everything they did for their father, and thank all the numerous family and friends who came to visit him.
