Anne M. Gildone age 78 died unexpectedly Friday, December 16, 2016 at UH Conneaut Medical Center.

          Anne was born on December 10, 1938 in Conneaut the daughter of Michael and Louise (Cifelli) Pignotti.  She was a 1956 graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to work at the former Astatic Corp. and The Children’s Shop in downtown Conneaut.  She also worked in the stock room at Emco Wheaten and retired from the Conneaut Telephone Company after 23 years of service.  For several years, she and her husband Perry worked at her brother’s restaurant, Tony’s in the Conneaut harbor.

         Anne was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where she was very active with church festivals, Lenten fish dinners and funeral luncheons.  Most recently Anne was very helpful with the community Thanksgiving Dinners at church and Mary’s Kitchen. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States.  Anne loved to cook Italian food for her family and friends.  She especially loved spending time with her children and her granddaughter, Marley.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Perry Gildone, Sr. in April 2016, a sister Vincina Nappi, brothers, Basil Pignotti, Anthony Pignotti and Vincent Pignotti in infancy.

          Anne is survived by daughter, Catherine (Tim) Knipp of Westlake, sons, Cosmo (James) Gildone and Perry Gildone, Jr. both of Conneaut, and granddaughter, Marley Flanigan Knipp.

          Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut, with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish and Father Raymond Thomas of Our Lady of Peach Parish concelebrating mass.

          Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, N. Kingsville.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Masses to be said.  Envelopes will be available at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut where arrangements are being handled.
