Donna Kay Westerburg, age 59 of Conneaut, died Thursday evening, January 26, 2017 as a result of a hit and run automobile accident.

Donna was born on June 8, 1957 the daughter of Jay W. Giddings and Nancy M. Rice. She was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut High School. She went on to work for a short time at Webb Mfg., housekeeping at Brown Memorial Hospital, and hostess and waitress at Perkins. Donna worked as a cook at the former Inn-Conneaut and as an aid at Maples, in the kitchen at Deck Vending and was currently employed with Mooney’s Bakery as a fryer.

In her spare time, Donna could read a book a day. She enjoyed novels, mysteries, crosswords and movies. She loved her cats “Max” and “Simba”. Donna was a wonderful family history buff especially when it came to her family ancestors. She was always known to remember dates and people.

Donna was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Willard J. and Laura Giddings, maternal grandparents Gerald and Myrtle Rice and step-mother Esther Giddings.

Donna is survived by her father Jay W. Giddings of Conneaut, her mother Nancy Gregory of Kingsville, her husband Robert A. Westerburg of Conneaut, a daughter Jaime Lee Westerburg of Tennessee, a granddaughter Aubrey Nicole of Tennessee, three brothers Douglas Giddings of Florida, Don Giddings of Conneaut, Dennis and Sharon Giddings of Cincinnati, Oh, two sisters, Diane Gombar of Conneaut, Denice and Dave Sedmak of Conneaut and several close nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home.
