Dorothy D. Christopher-Brooks age 92 of Conneaut died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

          Dorothy was born on March 20, 1925 in Albion, Pa the daughter of Earl D. and Laura (Hogoboom) Craig.  She was a 1947 graduate of Albion High School.

She worked at the former Astatic Corp. as an Inspector for 23 years.

          She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and served as the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Regent for several years.  Dorothy was the first woman in the state of Ohio to be President of the Kiwanis Club, she was President of the East Conneaut Child Conservation League, a Civic Committee member, chairman of the American Cancer Society and was on the Carnegie Library Board of Trustees.  Dorothy enjoyed ceramics, traveling, gardening, cooking and baking.  She especially loved the time she spent with friends and family.

          Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Joseph E. Christopher, second husband Donald R. Brooks, brother John Craig, sisters Earlene Mooney, Lucille Artman, Hazel Shearer and step-son Ronald Brooks.

          She is survived by her step-sons Joseph E. Christopher of Lansing, Michigan, David N. and Janis Christopher of Ashtabula, sisters Alice Zalewski of Erie, Pa, Grace Wood of Lake Wales, Florida, grandchildren Angela Marie Wills, Kelley Joy Sposito, Ryan Christopher, Joseph Christopher, Donald P. Brooks and three great-grandchildren Niko Sposito, Garrett Wills and Hudson Wills.

          Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on, November 9, 2017 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

          Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 744 Mill St, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.

          Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.

          Dorothy’s family would like to thank the Villa at the Lake and the Ashtabula County Nursing Home for the care and compassion given to Dorothy during her stay.

          Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Parish. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
