I didn’t know Tyler or his family, but his handsome face and gorgeous eyes caught my attention as I was looking for another obituary. I chose the teddy bear because that’s what he reminded me of as I watched his video. The loss of a child is one of the heaviest heartaches one can carry in life. I lost a precious toddler 30 years ago, but he still resides in my heart. Each death is different - my pain is different than your pain and your pain is your own personal journey. I can recall my pain but yet can’t fully understand your pain. What I do know is that, in time, you will be able to recall Tyler with laughter and joy - it will take quite a while, but the sun will shine again, sorrow will lessen, and a song will flood your heart again. Your lives will be forever changed, but you will feel happy and blessed again.

I hope you hear Tyler in the music he loved, may you feel his presence in a gentle lake breeze, may you be reminded of his smell when you hold one of his shirts, and may you hear his laughter when his friends share stories about him. He will be with you in many ways....forever.

When the anniversary of his death comes each year, I hope you will do something for someone in need as a way to honor Tyler - maybe give a gift to a young man who is struggling and would benefit by feeling someone cares about him - you’ll find ways. Remember, a heart that is hurting can best be healed by one that has been broken.

May God carry you all in the palm of His hand until you are ready to begin walking your path to peace.

Fondly,
Another Mother with one less child

I send my sincere condolences to your family during this difficult time. This scripture brought me comfort when I lost a loved one and I hope it can do the same for your family. (Psalm 34:18) May God give you comfort and the strength to endure through this difficult time.

Your Christmas will never be the same again, and we are so sorry for that. Tyler was such a good young man and we will always remember him as that. Looking through some old family get togethers, there he was, a cute little boy always smiling and dressed to the nines. Wish we could have gotten to know him more as he grew older. But we will always remember his smile. At Terri & Brenda wedding, he was so handsome and looked in love with his girlfriend (just the way he was looking at her throughout the night). He will never be forgotten and tons of hugs and prayers to the entire family.
Love to you all!!

I wish to express my sincere condolences to the family of John Tyler Aiken. It breaks our heart when death separates us from the ones we love, especially when their life is cut short. May you find comfort in your loving memories of John and in God’s promise to see our loved ones again through the resurrection. (Acts 24:15) What a joy it will be to welcome back John to a beautiful, peaceful earth (Psalms 37:10,11,29) where death will be no more! (Rev 21:4) May these scriptures comfort and strengthen you during this difficult time and in the days ahead. I am deeply sorry for your loss!

The Aiken family
First, I must say how sorry I am to hear of the loss of your son John. I have never met you or your family, but I feel the same loss. I lost my 25-year-old son Jeff to bone cancer. I do know what you are going through right now.
I know everything is dark, cold and numb right now, but I want to assure you in time the darkness will turn to light, the cold will get warm, the numbness will wear down and you will feel again. Food will regain flavor, a thought of something John did will turn into a laugh.
There will always be a huge void, but rest assured, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just wanted to share this with you and your family.
Good Luck and God Bless you and your family

Tyler was one of the "little people" I baby sat for, many years ago. When he came into my home, his eyes were the first thing I noticed, such a beautiful little boy and when I saw him later that boy turned into such a handsome young man. I have no words to ease this tremendous pain you all have now. I can only offer prayers for strength during this time . Paula & Ron Roberts
