John Tyler Aiken, age 19 of Madison, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 21, 2017 at home.
Tyler was born May 10, 1998 in Conneaut, the son of Kevin and Carrie (Zimmerman) Aiken. He graduated from Madison High School with Honors in 2016, and was currently a Sophomore attending Kent State University. During the summer Tyler worked for the Painesville City Parks & Recreation Department.
Tyler was an avid reader, loved playing video games with his college friends and camping and canoeing with his family. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Steelers and was a huge Star Wars fan. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead were some of Tyler’s favorite television shows. Tyler looked forward to watching new episodes of the The Walking Dead with his mother Carrie.
Tyler loved people and people loved Tyler. He was a genuine person and treated everyone with love and respect. Family was very important to Tyler, as he was so proud of all his cousins, aunts, uncles and especially his grandparents. Tyler had a special relationship with his sister Madison, whom he truly adored.
Tyler is survived by his loving parents, Kevin and Carrie Aiken of Madison, sister Madison Aiken of Madison, maternal grandparents Jean Zimmerman and Robert Zimmerman both of Conneaut, paternal grandparents Robert and Rebecca Aiken of Albion and Linda Thompson of Conneaut, paternal grandparents Jay and Stephanie Begg of Grove City, and Margaret Begg of Troy. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins and his girlfriend Giovanna DeSantis.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut,
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at St. Mary Church, 480 State St, Conneaut Ohio with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.
