Joyce A. Wassie, age 83, of Conneaut died Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.

          Joyce was born in Conneaut on July 11, 1934 to John and Thora (Wood) Lovell.  She was a 1952 graduate of Conneaut High School and would later marry the love of her life, Robert Wassie on July 7, 1952.  Joyce worked for the former Astatic Corporation and Bellevue Fruit Market.

          She enjoyed going to the casinos, playing bingo, spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, camping and most importantly spending time with her family.

          Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, daughter Lori in infancy, a sister Lura Wojtowicz, granddaughter Melissa Wassie and grandson Joseph Hicks.

          She is survived by her son Michael (Lindsey Rosipko) Wassie of Conneaut, Sheila (Mark) Poore of Conneaut, Susan (Mike) Hicks of Conneaut, ten grandchildren Gage Wassie, Scout Wassie, Angel Wassie, Megan Wassie, Logan Poore, Tracy McCarter, Shawn Hicks, Nikki Chambers, Jessica Hicks, Briana Rosipko and 8 great-grandchildren.

          Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut.

          Funeral Services will follow visitation on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Krause of the Church of God officiating.

          Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

          Memorial contributions can be made to the Conneaut Food Pantry.  Envelopes will be available at the Raisian Funeral Home office.
