           Michael E. Bittner, age 63 of Conneaut died unexpectedly Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic.

           Mike was born on October 19, 1953 in Conneaut the son of Edward F. and Marcella (Kirk) Bittner.  He was a 1971 graduate of Conneaut High School.  Following high school, Mike served an apprenticeship as an electrician at General Electric Conneaut Base Plant.  Mike was a licensed master electrician and worked as an electrician in Colorado Springs for 10 years.  While in Colorado, he tutored and mentored many to become electricians.  Mike returned to Conneaut and was well-known as the owner/operator of his business, Bittner Electric.

          Mike was a Harley Davidson enthusiast.  He enjoyed riding his 1957 pan head and wide glide motorcycles.  Mike loved helping people and hanging out with his friends at the American Legion, Eagles Club and the Bottomline.  Mike also enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking and his dog, Bo.  Mike’s family, children and grandchildren were the love of his life, along with his many friends. 

          Mike was preceded in death by his father in 2011 and his grandparents.

          He is survived by his mother, Marcella Bittner, sister Lisa Brown (Tom Diringer) of Geneva, brother Scott Bittner of Conneaut, son David (Michelle) Mott of Pierpont, daughter Melissa Mott (Drew Keenan) of Conneaut and their mother Sheree Bittner of Conneaut, five grandchildren Jon, Tony, Mackenzie, Kylie, Tanner, nieces Stefanie, Natalie and nephew Justin.

          At Mike’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Cowle Post #151, Conneaut, where his friends and family are encouraged to wear their favorite Harley Davidson shirt.

          Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

          Memorial contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the Conneaut Food Pantry c/o Conneaut Human Resource Center, 327 Mill St., Conneaut, Ohio.  Envelopes are also available at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street.

         Even in death Mike was still helping others, by giving the gift of life as a tissue and organ donor.
