NORMA R. MARKIJOHN

Norma R. Markijohn, age 81 of Conneaut, died early Tuesday morning, November 1, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her family. 

Norma was born December 1, 1934 in Fayetteville, West Virginia, the daughter of Gladys and Andy Triplett. She worked at the former Astatic Corporation and retired from General Electric after 16 years of service. Norma was a volunteer at St. Frances Cabrini School Library for many years following her retirement. She loved being with children and especially her grandchildren.  

Norma also enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, working in her garden and shopping. She loved to travel to West Virginia to see her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lucille Triplett, Geraldine Crist, and Josephine Triplett; nephews, Stephen Crist, and Arthur Crist; and a niece, Brenda Phillip. 

She is survived by her loving husband, James D. Markijohn, whom she married November 13, 1953; a son, James Jr. (Linda) Markijohn of Ravenna, OH; daughters, Gail (Mike) Castrilla of Conneaut, OH, Judy (Jay) Mudd of Geneva, OH; brothers, David, James, and Jack Triplett, all of Fayetteville, WV; sisters, Victoria Jones and Marie Murphy, both of Oakhill, WV; grandchildren, Michael, Allie, Sarah, Jimmy, Haylee, Heather; and "bonus" grandchildren, Aimee, J.C., and Brian. 

At Norma’s request, no services will be held. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve 1166 Lake Ave. Ashtabula, OH 44004.  Envelopes will be available at the Raisian Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, OH 44030, where arrangements are being handled.
