Robert James Zappitelli, age 59, of Conneaut, OH, died peacefully at home on Monday, July 11, 2016.

Bob was born on July 31, 1956 in Conneaut. He is the son of the late Edward and Betty (Munson) Zappitelli.

Robert graduated from Conneaut High School in 1974, and went on to serve in the United States Army. Robert was a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he jumped out of C-130 planes. While in the Army, Bob was stationed in Italy and other various parts of the country.

Bob worked a variety of jobs, for the Eighmy Corporation and Parker Hannifin, both as tool and die makers. He was a true craftsman and exceled at his work. Bob enjoyed building model air planes, gardening and fishing. He was the type of person who would do anything for anybody.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved cat "Snowball".

He is survived by his son, Nicholas M. Zappitelli of Conneaut, sister, Mary L. (Robert) Lardi of Conneaut, brother, Francis (Laura) Zappitelli of Lake Geneva, WI, sister, Carol (Jim) Laine of Chandler, AZ and sister, Jill (Jeff) Nick of Painesville, OH, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Bob's memory can be made to the Northeast Radio Flyers Club, c/o Bob Lardi, 378 Liberty St, Conneaut, Ohio 44030 envelopes are available at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut which has been entrusted with his care.
