NANCY M. RAWLINGS, age 78 of Conneaut, died Sunday morning, August 22, 2010 with her family by her side.
Nancy was born July 27, 1932, in Conneaut the daughter of Louis and Carmella (Palumbo) Gustaferro. She was a 1950 graduate of Conneaut High School and then went on to beautician school in Ashtabula. She worked for short time at the Ashtabula Telephone Co. and the former Astatic. For many years, she was the owner/operator of Nancy’s Beauty Shop in West Springfield, PA, until 1992.
Nancy was a member of St. Mary / St. Frances Cabrini Parish, where she was very active and served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lecture. She was also a member of the Cara Mia Club and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, walking, movies, shows and entertaining. She was especially proud of her Italian heritage and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Micheul Gustaferro, and a sister Linda Reinhart.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard D. (Don) Rawlings, whom she married January 9, 1954; two sons, Don and Charlotte Rawlings of Riverhead,New York and Ron Rawlings of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Debbie and Paul Nicholson of Bryan, Texas, and Robin and Brian Oatman of Conneaut; two sisters, Vivian and Ed Moroski of Conneaut and Mary Ann and Duane Rood of Conneaut; nine grandchildren, Aaron, Andrea, Brian and Keri, Greg, Kyle, Kelsie, Kendra, Ryan, and Brianna; and five great grandchildren, Kaley, Anna and Derek Nicholson; Olivia Stout and Jordan Bayne and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, with Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve or St.Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

EUGENE H. MARENO, age 85 of Conneaut died Friday, August 20, 2010 at University Hospitals in Cleveland.
Eugene was born in Ashtabula on January 2, 1925, the son of Anthony and Mary Moreno Roberto.
He sailed for many years on several ships on the Great Lakes, where he worked as a porter and a cook, until his retirement in 1987. Following his retirement, he went on to work at the Ashtabula Mall performing janitorial services. He enjoyed walking and watching baseball. Gene was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Roberto; a brother-in-law, Chester Nolan.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Betty Mareno, whom he married January 3, 1959; three sons, Steve Mareno of Madison, Thomas Mareno of Conneaut, and David (and Laura) Mareno of Conneaut: a brother, Anthony Angelo of Ashtabula; a sister, Victoria Peak of Conneaut: and nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Services to follow at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, North Kingsville, Ohio.
THOMAS NOTTE, age 62 of Conneaut, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Ashtabula County Medical Center following an illness.
Tom was born in Conneaut, Ohio on August 6, 1948 the son of Nicholas and Edith (DeLisio) Notte
Mr. Notte was a life-long resident of Conneaut and graduated from Conneaut High School in 1966. Tom went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force for four years. After returning to Conneaut, he was employed with the Pittsburgh and Conneaut Dock Company. He worked as a belt repairman and in maintenance and retired in 2008 after 36 years of service.
Tom was an avid sports fan. Tom was known for hosting “The Bullpen”, a weekly sports talk show on WWOW. He was very active in the Conneaut Recreation Board, where he served as Commissioner. He coordinated youth basketball, volleyball and flag football games and was also an announcer for CLYO and high school baseball games. Tom also coached at CLYO years ago and was also named as “Citizen of the Year.”
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael Notte; and a nephew, Jeffrey Notte.
He is survived by his beloved, Betty Siebert; his daughters, Alisa (and Mica) Sorkin and Mindy Notte, both of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Loretta (and Chuck) Penniman of Conneaut; sister-in-law, Elaine Notte of The Villages, FL; an uncle, James Notte of Conneaut; and his faithful canine companion, “Mugsy”.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut, Ohio, where the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Police Department K-9 Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

ERNEST (ERNIE)J. RAISIAN, age 84 of North Kingsville, died Friday afternoon, August 13, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.
Ernie was born December 31, 1925 in Conneaut, Ohio the son of Manuel and Elizabeth (Rego) Raisian. He graduated from Conneaut High School in 1943 and began working at the General Electric in Conneaut. Ernie then entered the United States Army, serving in the Army Airways Communication Squadron, until he was honorably discharged 1n 1946. Ernie went on to Ohio State seeking a degree in Accounting and later returned to work at the General Electric Base Plant in Conneaut. He had extensive schooling throughout his GE career. In 1982, Ernie received the Gerald L. Phillippe Award for Distinguished Public Service from General Electric. He retired in 1986 as a general foreman, following 43 years of service.
Ernie loved to play fast-pitch softball and was a wonderful basketball and baseball player. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a former member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Ernie was a member of The Federated Church in East Springfield, PA. Ernie was also a member of The Way Church and served on the Mission Committee in Sebring, Florida, where he and his wife, Rosemary lived for the winter months for many years. He also enjoyed traveling to the east and west coasts to visit family and friends.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Raymond Raisian and Edward Raisian.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Pearson) Raisian, whom he married August 17, 1974, of North Kingsville; sons, John and Claudia Raisian of Palo Alto, CA and Robert Raisian of Erie, PA; daughters, Patricia and Frank Palagyi of Kingsville, Anita and Timothy Woodworth of Avon, Ohio, Tracy and David Glover of Columbus, Ohio and Gretchen and Donald Wells of Bend, Oregon; a sister, Bernice Dickey of North Kingsville; twelve grandchildren, Kellyn, Kimberly, Allison, Sara, Heidi, Jennifer, Lindsey, Tyler, Kyle, Russell, Kathleen and Sharleen; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Ashlyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at The Federated Church, 11995 East Main Street, East Springfield, PA, with Rev. Rick Plucknett officiating.
Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery, Route 215, East Springfield, PA. with the American Legion Cowle Post 151 conducting Military Rites.
