    RITA J. CARLUCCI, age 82 of  Conneaut, died Friday afternoon, February 26, 2010 following a lengthy illness.

    Rita was born May 5, 1927 in Hubbard, Ohio, the daughter of Modesty and Helen (Conners) Petten.  She lived in Hubbard and Youngstown, Ohio.  She attended St. Patrick's Catholic and Hubbard High School.  For a short while she worked at McKelvey's Department Store in downtown Youngstown, after graduating from beauty school.  She also was a beautician with Gert Smith in Conneaut for two years.  As a teenager, Rita spent her summers in Conneaut with her Uncle Robert and Aunt Cecelia Garwood and cousin "Dot" (Garwood) Banko.

    Rita married her husband Armand on July 3, 1948 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio.

    She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church in Conneaut  and the Cara Mia Ladies Club.

    She enjoyed her family, walking, dancing and crocheting.  She enjoyed living across from Conneaut Township Park and Lake Erie.  She especially enjoyed the winters in Naples, Florida and the beaches and shopping there.  Rita also liked traveling with her husband to his U.S. Navy Ship reunions.

    Rita is survived by her husband, Armand Carlucci; four daughters, Linda Barron of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy and Ray Smith of Fairview Park, Ohio, Cathy and Greg Hlifka of Leroy Township, Ohio, and Patti and Jamie Bonini of Cincinnati, Ohio; she is also survived by two granddaughters, Caroline Bonini and Larissa Barron; one grandson, Jay Bonini; and two step-grandsons, Matthew and Cory  Smith; a brother, John and Delphine Petten of Parma and Boardman, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Mary Ellen Karabin.

    Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio.

    Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut, Ohio, with Father Raymond Thomas of St. Mary/ St. Frances Cabrini Parish officiating.

    Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Lisa Iarocci Scholarship Fund, Hospice of the Western Reserve or the Karing Ways Pre-school.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

    MARY TALLMADGE, age 93 of Conneaut died early Thursday morning, February 25, 2010 at the Geneva Pointe Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center, Geneva, Ohio.

    Mary was born December 16, 1916 in Erie, PA the daughter of Carlo and Theresa (Massiello) DiNunzio, Sr.  She was a 1934 graduate from Conneaut High School.  She married her husband, Frank Tallmadge in 1957.  Mary worked for many years at several restaurants as a waitress and also as a retail clerk at the former W.T. Grant Building. 

    Mary enjoyed walking and was an avid baseball fan and her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians.  She also liked taking bus trips and visiting the casinos.

    Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Esther J. Sandella; and two brothers, Amy DeNunzio and Nicholas DeNunzio.

    Mary is survived by her husband, Frank Tallmadge of Conneaut; a brother, Carl DeNunzio, Jr. of Conneaut; three sisters, Jennie Belnap and Margaret DeNunzio both of Conneaut, and Helen Hollister of Harbor Creek, PA; a step-son, Norman Tallmadge of Waterford, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut, with Father Raymond Thomas of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish officiating.  Burial will follow.

    The Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut are handling the arrangements.

    Mary's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Geneva Pointe staff and  Harbor Lights Hospice for the wonderful care and comfort they gave to Mary.
