Daniel E. Soliday, Jr. age 76 passed away on February 21, 2024, at Southwest General Hospital.
Danny was born on September 10, 1947, in Ashtabula, the son of Daniel E. and Anna Gilogie Soliday, Sr. He was a 1965 graduate of Harbor High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and served his country during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1971. He served three more years in the reserves until 1974. Danny worked at the Molded Fiberglass plant as a security guard until he received his disability from the veterans.
Danny was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and was an advocate for the Disabled veterans. He loved his family, grandchildren and the veterans.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Virginia Soliday.
Danny is survived by his wife Carmela Todaro Soliday, whom he married January 7, 1978, sons Guy Diana Soliday of Palmer, Alaska, James and Toni Soliday of Leesburg, Virginia, daughters Jessica and David Kubiak of Parma, Ohio, Elizabeth and Chuck Griffith of Twinsburg, Ohio, eight grandchildren Remi Soliday, Amber Soliday, Dominic Soliday, Adri Soliday, Brittany (Ian) Aitchison, Chase Kubiak, Amelia Griffith, Lila Shorr, and a great granddaughter Paige Aitchison.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut where the Conneaut American Legion Cowle Post 151 Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
