Gail Elizabeth Marshall Mathews, loving mother, grandmother, devoted nurse and cherished member of the Monroe Township community, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10th, 2024. Her life was a testament to compassion, selflessness, and unwavering love.
Gail dedicated her career to nursing, touching countless lives with her kindness and expertise. She approached her work with a gentle touch and a compassionate heart, earning the respect and gratitude of her patients and colleagues alike.
Gail was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Ed Mathews.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Gail's greatest joy came from her role as a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing her children, Edward Mathews (Debora Heller), Mark Mathews (Janet Mathews), and Rebecca Pryor, and her love knew no bounds. Gail's home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of her delicious cooking and baking, creating cherished memories for her family to hold dear.
Gail was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Ed Mathews.
As a grandmother, Gail's love extended to her grandchildren Michelle Taylor (Robert Taylor) Megan Shetler (David Shelter) Mike Pryor (Heather Pryor), Max Mathews, Colleen (Peter) Martorano, Katie (David) Rapport and Heather Seagart and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Bobby, Noah, Gabe, Mathew, Abigail, Gage, Grant, David, Samantha, Carson, Meyer, Rose, Leona and Allissa whom she adored with every fiber of her being. She took great delight in their presence and was always there to offer guidance, support, and endless love.
Gail's legacy of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Nicholas Iarocci officiating.
Burial will take place at Kelloggsville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In honoring Gail's memory, the family requests donations to Hospice of Western Reserve in lieu of flowers. Gail's spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched and the love she shared.
