Eleanor E. (Gabriel) Pignotti age 91 of Conneaut died December 18, 2019 following a short illness.
Mrs. Pignotti was born September 28, 1928 in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Carmella Gabriel.
Eleanor married Basil (Bill) Pignotti on May 7, 1949. She moved to Conneaut and with her husband by her side owned and operated The Swan Cafe on Harbor Street for 25 years until they sold it in 1973. She worked for Premix until she retired in 1998. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish Church.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 151 and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 472. She was also President of the Cara Mia Club.
Mrs. Pignotti was survived by her children Louise (Pignotti) LeBlanc of Conneaut, Carmela (Pignotti-DiPofi) (Robert) Gustafson of the Villages, Florida and Michael Pignotti of Conneaut. Her grandchildren David (Rhonda) DiPofi, Diana Marie DiPofi and Angela (LeBlanc) Jolly of Conneaut. Hope (Pignotti) (James) Reynolds of Acworth, Georgia, Cody Pignotti (Fiance Megan McShane) of Denver, Colorado, Douglas (Andrea) Gustafson of Gahanna, Ohio, Michael (Jessica) Gustafson of Pataskala, Ohio. Eleanor has seven great-grandchildren, Allen (Hanna) Ganska, Kate and Nicholas Osborne and Faith Jolly all of Conneaut, Ohio, Isabella Reynolds of Acworth, Georgia, Jonathan and Emmalyn Gustafson of Gahanna, Ohio and Oliver Gustafson of Pataskala, Ohio.
Eleanor has one great-great grandson Xander Ganska of Conneaut, Ohio.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carmella Gabriel. Her husband Basil, brothers Paul and Roland Gabriel and her sister Doris (Gabriel) Timonere. Her son-in-law David DiPofi and Bill LeBlanc and her granddaughter Lori LeBlanc.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family, traveling with her husband, gambling trips with her girlfriends, loved crocheting, gardening and her beautiful roses.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Mother Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Father Raymond Thomas and Deacon Nicholas Iarocci officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.
Private calling hours will be held at Raisian Family Funeral Home for family.
