Florence Jabaily, age 93 of Conneaut, died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Villa at the Lake surrounded by her family.
Florence was born in Conneaut on October 5, 1926 the daughter of Pasquale and Anna (Mucci) DiNunzio. Florence was a 1945 graduate of Conneaut High School. For many years she was a homemaker and housewife and she later retired from the Girard school system. Florence loved to cook Italian dishes and serving lots of food for her family and friends. She loved to dance (post war era) especially at the American Legion on Saturday nights with her husband.
Florence’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and family were the love of her life. She was fondly known as Grandma and GG.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Joseph Edel (1969), her second husband Edward Jabaily (1992), son Paul Edel, brothers Anthony DiNunzio, Louis DiNunzio and Nicholas DiNunzio, sisters Mary Calabrese, Josephine Marcucci, Ida Armeni and Helen Bohach.
Florence is survived by daughter Ann (Clyde) Laughlin of Conneaut, grandchildren Katie (Joe) Measel, Abby (Matt) Kauppila, Joseph Edel, Sara Morse, Dr. Matthew Edel and Christopher Marion, seven great-grandchildren Lila Morse, Josie Measel, Geno Measel, Mae Measel, Anna Kauppila, Owen Kauppila and Cooper Kauppila, sister Patricia Adams of Conneaut, sister-in-law Flora DiNunzio, former daughter-in-law Sylvia Atkinson, cousins Margaret DeNunzio of Conneaut and Helen Hollister of Erie, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Father Philip Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
