Howard G. Cosner, age 79, of Conneaut, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Lake Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Howard was born on May 6, 1937 in Conneaut, the son of William and Helen (Weaver) Cosner.  He was a graduate of North Springfield High School and later joined the United States Navy and served as a Naval Reservist until he was honorably discharged in 1963.  Howard went to work for the Nickel Plate Railroad and later retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as Chief Dispatcher after 44 years of service. 

Howard was a member of the Old Time Baptist Church in East Conneaut, a member of the Conneaut Moose, Evergreen Lodge No. 22 F.& A.M., Conneaut Eagles and American Legion Cowle Post 151.  Howard was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan, he also enjoyed bowling, walking, playing cards and poker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Rosemary Cosner in 2002.

Howard is survived by his wife Anna Cosner, whom he married August 26, 2004, two sons, Howard (Karen) Cosner of Papillion, Nebraska and Paul (Paula) Cosner of Conneaut, daughter Gail Fisher of Canton, two brothers, Donald (Flora) Cosner of Conneaut and Richard Cosner of Arizona, three step-sons Daniel Osborne of Lawton, Oklahoma, Donald Osborne of Roaming Shores and Dareld (Katie) Osborne of Fairfield, Ohio, six grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Helena, Joseph, Aaron, Ethan, five step-grandchildren Cassie, Brandon, Tristian, Caitlyn and Cameron, and three great-grandchildren Preston, Penelope and Kari. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut. 

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. following calling hours on Saturday, at the Raisian Family Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made in Howard’s memory to Lake Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 22 Parrish Rd.,  Conneaut.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut, where the American Legion Post #151 Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
