James Robert Bogar, age 79, died Tuesday evening May 15, 2018 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Jim was born on December 11, 1938 in Ashtabula to Harry and Lucille Hinkle Bogar. Jim was a graduate of Kingsville High School and accelerated in sports earning eight letters. He was later inducted to the Ashtabula Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2016.
Jim loved to play golf and bowl at ABC Lanes. In his younger days he played softball for the Crows Nest and Chateau Lounge. He was also a member of the Kingsville Baptist Church.
Jim started working at Detrex Chemical in 1959 and retired from Praxair in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda (Wilkinson) Bogar in 2014.
Jim is survived by his children Robert “Bob” Bogar of Conneaut, Wendy Bogar of Columbus, Gary Bogar of Conneaut, brothers Dave (Carol) Bogar of Kingsville, Paul (Diane) Bogar of Ashtabula, a cousin Doris Haves of Ashtabula and a very special friend, Edie of Ocala Fl.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of the Western Reserve for their care of James.
At the family’s request there will be no services.
Arrangements are being handled by the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
