John Armstrong Obituary

John “Jack” Armstrong age 84 of Pierpont died peacefully at home on March 11, 2019 surrounded by his family from heart and lung complications.

He was born on December 28, 1934 the son of John I. and Esther (Burdick) Armstrong in Conneaut.  He worked at the former Exomet/Foseco plant in Conneaut, and as a door greeter at the Ashtabula Walmart.  He was in the Ohio National Guard.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to the Cleveland Indians (on the radio), watching tv, listening to country music, spending time outside fishing, gardening, and just enjoying the day.  He was a life long resident and he was a member of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years Helen (Clark) Armstrong, beloved dog hope, four sons Jeffery, John E., Ronald and Donald Armstrong, two brothers, Robert and Larry Armstrong, four sisters-in-law Faye Clark, Ida Rae Jones, Frances Armstrong and Blanche Norton, three brothers-in-law Jack Clark, Leon Jones and Art Norton Sr., and a step-granddaughter.

He is survived by two daughters Susan Armstrong of Pierpont and Debra Armstrong of Conneaut, three grandchildren Dan Armstrong of McIntyre, PA, Kristy Armstrong of Conneaut, Lorie (Dave) Ray of Conneaut, step grandchildren, sister-in-law Ella Armstrong of Conneaut, several nieces and nephews, many beloved cats and many friends.

No calling hours will be observed.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on  Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Kelloggsville Cemetery.  Those attending are asked to dress casual.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.

Arrangements are being handled by the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut.
