John S. Long, III

           John S. Long III, age 54 of Conneaut, died Saturday, August 25, 2018, peacefully at home in the loving arms of his wife, after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

          John was born August 27, 1963 in Indiana, PA, the son of John and Mildred (Chilenski) Long, Jr.  He was a 1982 graduate of Northwestern Sr. High.  John worked at Premix for many years and was owner/operator of St. Clair Home Repair, Maintenance and Lawn Care.  He loved his work and considered all his customers as friends.

          John loved dining out, going to garage sales and flea markets with his wife, walking, playing and napping with his dog Maggie.  John also enjoyed fishing, especially fly fishing, telling Facebook stories, Christmas and Halloween, and breakfast with the guys at McDonalds.

          He was preceded in death by his father, uncles Ronald Long, Alvin Deemer, Frank Burton Winsheimer and cousin Timothy Deemer.

          John is survived by his wife, Rosalind (Swartwood) Long, whom he married on July 1, 2002, his mother and step-father Mildred Long and Russel Falletta of Sebring, FL, one brother James Long of Bushnell, OH, one sister Julie (Ryan) Pazun of Clayton, NC., step-son Christopher Wiggins of Conneaut, nephews Joshua (Jennifer) Long of Salsbury, NC., Joseph Long of Bushnell, OH, four aunts, Marge (Ronald) Hutchins of Sigel, PA, Cindy Long of Indiana, PA, Eleanor Winsheimer of Indiana, PA and Alice Deemer of Ashtabula and numerous cousins and in-laws.

          John’s wife Rosalind would like to thank everyone for all of their help, prayers, caring and cards.  They meant so much to him.  She would also like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve for the compassionate care given to John.

          Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. at the Raisian Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut, OH 44030. 

          Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018, 2:00 pm at Raisian Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Rogers, of the Ashtabula Church of God, officiating.

          Burial will take place at a later date.

          Memorial contributions can be made in John’s name to his wife, or the Raisian Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
