Joseph R. Sedmak

Joseph R. Sedmak, age 69 of Conneaut, died peacefully at home Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

Joe was born in Conneaut on December 1, 1947 the son of Joseph and Catherine (Jevec) Sedmak.  He was a 1965 graduate of Conneaut High School, following high school, Joe sailed on the Great Lakes for a time. He attended college and later enlisted in the Unites States Coast Guard, where he served his country until he was Honorably discharged. 

Joe also worked at the P & C Dock Company for 13 years until his retirement.  He later became one of the owners of S & S Tool Inc., with his brother Paul. Joe was a member of St. Mary Church and Corpus Christi Parish. Joe was a coach for basketball at St. Mary and C.L.Y.O. baseball. He played City League basketball for years and would help anyone he and his family could. Joe loved to travel to the casino’s and Niagara Falls, Canada with his wife and family. They were avid campers, loving to fish and enjoy the outdoors.  Joe also loved to try different foods and restaurants. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe is survived by his wife Shari (Narducci) Sedmak, whom he married July 29, 1969, son Jeff Sedmak of Marion, daughter Traci (Rodger) Palo of Conneaut, brother Paul (Tina) Sedmak of Conneaut, and three grandchildren Hope Palo, Abigail Palo and Mike Palo.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 Noon, at St. Mary Church, 489 State St, with Fr. Philip Miller officiating. Burial of Joe’s ashes will be held later at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Immediately following Mass, a Celebration of Joe’s life and luncheon will be held at Corpus Christi Parish Hall, 734 Mill St, Conneaut.
