Welcome to the memorial page for

Lucille Louise Zoratti

April 20, 1927 ~ October 3, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Lucille Louise Zoratti, age 90, of Conneaut, Ohio, died peacefully Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

Dearly loved by all, Lucille "Lou" was born April 20, 1927, in Ashtabula, to John and Carmel (Matrisciano) Cusano.  Lou was a graduate of Ashtabula High in 1945 and worked at The Harbor Theater in Ashtabula, where she met and later married Raymond Silvio Zoratti on September 25, 1947.

Lou’s legacy was important to her. She and her husband shared an unwavering dedication to family, morals, values, Italian traditions, a profound faith in God, and each other.  They had a true zest for life!

While raising her children, Lou was very active in the community and headed up many charities, auctions, style shows, and bake sales.  Her exuberant personality and leadership skills led her to become president of nearly every club of which she was a part:  American Cancer Society; Cara Mia club, as lifetime president; Altar Rosary Society; Catholic Daughters of America, of which she was grand regent and honorary lifetime member; Girl Scout leader; Pinochle club; Anita Garibaldi Lodge, together with her mother, (non-president), etc.   She also owned Young World clothing and shoe store on Main St. in Conneaut (formerly The Children's Shop). Lou was a lifetime member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish.

Some of her hobbies included playing cards, dice, puzzle books, and travel.  She loved to host events and was an exceptional cook and baker, talents she passed on to her children and grandchildren, having several of her recipes published in cookbooks.

She thrived on being the matriarch of her large family and enjoyed special occasions and impromptu "get-togethers" with family and friends, both in Ohio and Arizona. She was intelligent, wise and generous beyond compare. She was a natural beauty with a keen sense of humor, always "happy-go-lucky" and kind to everyone she met along her journey in life. To the very end, she remained independent and sharp-minded.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Ramona; brothers, Anthony and Dominic; and sister, Josephine.

Survivors include son, Raymond Silvio, Jr. and Laura Zoratti of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Cynthia Zoratti of Conneaut, Patricia Taylor and Eric Heap of Chandler, AZ, Roberta and Rick Johnston of Perry, Michelle Zoratti of Conneaut, and Kathleen Zoratti and Brenda Caisse of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Margaret of Madison, and Shirlee of Ashtabula; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Parish, 744 Mill St., Conneaut with Father Philip Miller officiating.   Interment of ashes will take place at the convenience of the family.
