Margaret Mikolay Obituary

Margaret F. Mikolay, age 91, of Kingsville, OH died peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  She was surrounded by her children to whom she always filled with wisdom and love, often saying “live life until you die”.

Margaret was born March 20, 1926 the daughter of Andrew and Pauline (Kocis) Mischick.  She was a 1944 graduate of Greenville High and 1948 graduate of Mercyhurst College, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science.  Margaret worked at Ashtabula General Hospital as a Dietician, then at Kingsville High School as a Home Ec, Science and English teacher, then finally at Buckeye Local Schools as the Food Service Supervisor until retiring in 1989.

Margaret was a member of St. Andrew Church where she was the Principal of the CCD Program and Council of Women, she belonged to the Friends of the Kingsville Library and was a very well-respected and active member of her community.  She enjoyed sewing (making and designing her own wedding dress as well as clothes for her children), reading (she loved biographies), cooking (known for her famous cinnamon rolls) and doing yardwork (upon request).  Most of all, Margaret loved spending time with family and friends and made everyone she met feel warm and welcome.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, her son Frank M. Mikolay, and her husband Frank J Mikolay -to whom she was proudly married for 58 years.

She is survived by Ramona McCullough of Manassas, VA, Rosalie Specht (husband Paul) of Painesville OH, Daniel Mikolay of Vancouver BC, Merri Jo Meehan (husband Mike) of Columbia Station, OH and Paul Mikolay of Vancouver WA.  Her legacy continues with 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
