Marguerite Copeland

          Marguerite Copeland age 93 formerly of Conneaut died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Michigan Center, MI surrounded by her family.

          Marguerite was born on May 7, 1926 in Rochester, PA the daughter of Dominic and Mary (Vignal) Palmer.    Marge attended Conneaut High School. She worked at the Conneaut Base Plant General Electric until she retired. She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and loved to listen to Elvis music and old MGM musicals, vacationing in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She has spent the last few years in Michigan Center living with her daughter Renee.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard F. “Howie” Copeland in 2014, sisters Josephine Lengyel, Betty Landolfi, Delores Shields, and Frannie Compora.

          She is survived by her daughter Renee and Kenneth Rood of Michigan Center, MI, grandchildren Patrick and Anke Rood of New Jersey, and Abbey (Rood)  and Andrew DeHaven of Jackson, Michigan, great grandchildren Dominic and Ruah, sister Joann and Charles Beaver of Conneaut, brother Don and Carol Palmer of Conneaut and several nieces and nephews.

          Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

          Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

          Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.

          Marge’s heart was always with St. Jude Children’s Hospital, any contributions may be made in her memory to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
