Michael Carducci, Sr. Obituary

          Michael A. Carducci, Sr. age 88 died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his home.

          Mike was born on November 5, 1930 in Conneaut the son of Matthew and Evangeline (Julio) Carducci.  He attended Conneaut High School and went on to work at the Nickel Plate Railroad and became a welder and car knocker.  Following a layoff, Mike became a prison guard at the Mansfield State Prison and worked his way to become a Sgt. of the guards.  He returned to Conneaut where he retired as an engineer with Norfolk and Southern Railroad following 30 years of service. 

          He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.  When he was younger, he was an avid bowler and he bowled a 300 game, several 299 games and many 700 series.  He enjoyed bowling at El Camp Lanes and ABC Lanes.  Mike enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and going to horse races with his wife Autumn.  He also enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. 

          Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife Autumn E. Carducci in 2011 and brothers Richard Carducci, James Carducci and Donald Carducci.

          He is survived by his son Michael A. Carducci, Jr. and his fiancé Tracy of North Kingsville, daughter Sherry Mercer of Sheridan, WY, grandchildren PFC Anthony Michael Carducci, stationed in Ft. Hood, TX, Gabriella Antoinnette Carducci of Dorset, Brandon Mercer of WY, Jessie Mercer of CA and brother Matt Carducci of Conneaut.

          At Mike’s request graveside services will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut at the convenience of the family.

          Memorial contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to Corpus Christi Parish.
