Michael J. Julio, age 96, of Conneaut, Ohio died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at home with his family by his side.
Michael was born October 30, 1922 in Conneaut, the son of Joseph and Lydia (Seppi) Julio. He was a member of the class of 1942, of Conneaut High School. Mike served in the United States Coast Guard auxiliary until he was honorably discharged. Mike went to work for the railroad as a tool maker and later retired from North American Rockwell Plant in Ashtabula as a Production Manager after many years of service.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in Conneaut and a member at St Michaels in Hudson, Florida. Mike was also a member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge, Conneaut Elks Club, American Legion Cowle Post 151, and the V.F.W. Michael enjoyed golfing, going to casinos, cruises and loved dancing and traveling with his wife Geraldine.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine (Picard) Julio whom he was married to for over 61 years, and two sisters Theresa Pape and JoAnn Fosnight.
He is survived by one son, Michael Julio of Clearwater, Florida, grandchildren, Aimee Lyon (Russ) Fulshear TX, Bridget Gorhum (Garry) Schertz, TX, Michael Julio III (Erica) Raeford, NC four Great grandchildren Elizabeth, Alyssa, Ian, Emily and one great great grandson Clifton and daughter Ann Marie Julio of Citrus Springs, Florida, two sisters, Elaine Rockwell of Conneaut, and Sandy Carroll of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St, Conneaut, on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 12 noon. Following mass, the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
A reception will follow at the American Legion in Conneaut, Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family and request no flowers and any donations can be made to Hospice of The Western Reserve.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
