Mildred "Millie" Dolbow Obituary

Mildred “Millie” G. Dolbow, age 94 of Conneaut, died Saturday morning May 4, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Millie was born on April 15, 1925 the daughter of Michael and Katherine (Wallitich) Sallick and attended school in Conneaut. She worked as a telephone operator in Virginia Beach, returned to Conneaut to work at the Astatic and later retired from Emco Wheaton where she was a Class A-machinist.

Millie was a member of Corpus Christi Parish. She was a wonderful gardener and she enjoyed taking care of her home. Millie was an avid reader and loved to cook, especially Croatian soups and apple strudel for her family and friends.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frederick Dolbow, brothers Paul Sallick, Michael Sallick, George Sallick, William Sallick and son-in-law James Vespe.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Vespe of Conneaut, grandchildren James Vespe of Arizona, Stacy Vespe of Lakewood, great grandchildren Santana and Sasha, sister Virginia Scott of Conneaut, special niece and nephew Sandy Laitenen and Scott Laitenen, great niece Lisa Laitenen and several more nieces and nephews.

At “Millie’s” request Private family services will be held at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Activities Department of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home for the care and compassion give to Millie over the past 10 years, and also a special thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
