Nicholas Jack Vignal, 78 of Conneaut, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Jack was born on May 30, 1939 in Conneaut the son of Nicholas and Bertha (Jordan) Vignal. He was a Conneaut High School graduate and went to work at Allied Resins, Eighmy Corporation and later became a Police Officer for the Conneaut Police Department. He retired after a 19-year career from the Conneaut Police Department as a Detective Sergeant. Jack was so proud to be a police officer. Jack also worked for the Conneaut Port Authority, helping launch boats and filling in where he was needed.
Jack was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Conneaut Optimist Club. Jack’s passion after retirement was golf and he loved playing with his old golf buddies Chris Noce and Jim Marvin, among others. He loved traveling to the casinos with his wife Sherry and taking care of his yardwork.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Marilouise Warren and Marie Sabo.
Jack is survived by his wife Sharoyn “Sherry” (Baker) Vignal of Conneaut, two sons, John Jack Vignal of Conneaut, James Vignal of New York City, a brother-in-law Harry Baker and a sister Shirley Rose of Conneaut.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish with Father David Bridling of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
