Robert E. Brown, age 71, of Conneaut died Monday, July 9, 2018 at home with his family by his side.
Bob was born February 20, 1947 in Lewistown, PA, the son of Robert and Pauline (Leach) Brown. He was a 1965 graduate of Lewistown High School and studied for a year at Lockhaven College, before joining the United States Airforce in 1966. During his service career he was stationed at Kadana Airbase in Okinawa, Japan, Sol International Airport and Grand forks, ND. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
Bob served as a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper for almost 30 years until his retirement in 2001 as Detective. He went on to work the next 15 years for Jeff Blum Construction in Tionesta.
Bob was a member of many civic organizations, the American Legion Cowle Post 151 and Honor Squad, Conneaut Moose Lodge, former Eagles Club member, Past President of the Titusville Lions Club and a former Volunteer Fire Fighter in Titusville.
Bob was born and raised in Pennsylvania and was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan! He moved to Ohio for love but continued to be a Steelers fan. He enjoyed golfing, his dogs and spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger Williams, sister Nancy Sheaffer, and his chocolate lab Sadie.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tina Betts of Conneaut, son David (Anne) Brown of Raleigh, NC, daughter Beth (Bill) Conkle of Seneca, PA., and four grandchildren, Fletcher and Finley Brown and Lauren and Benjamin Conkle.
A celebration of Life will be held on August 4, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., at the American Legion, Cowle Post 151, 272 Broad St. Conneaut, OH 44030. Military Honors will be held during the celebration.
