Robert G. Lehtonen, Sr.

            Robert G. Lehtonen, Sr., age 74, of Conneaut died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

            Bob was born on July 22, 1944 in Ashtabula, the son of Reino and Ruth (Faulkerson) Lehtonen.  He graduated from Edgewood High School and worked various jobs over the years.  Bob worked for Cristal Global for 44 years in the maintenance department, until his retirement in 2013.

            Bob was a member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge #472, American Legion Cowle Post #151, VFW and Steelworks Union #7334.  He loved going to all the clubs and socializing with the members.  Every morning Bob would go to the Village Mart to make coffee, spend time with friends and do “side work”.  Bob also enjoyed golfing, bowling, watching CNN and spending time with friends and family.

            Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Reino Lehtonen and two sisters, Carol O’Connor and Sally Hoke.

            He is survived by his loving wife Joyce (Wilkinson) Lehtonen, whom he married December 24, 1994.  Bob is also survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Donald Rossi) Miller of Ashtabula and Barbara Lehtonen of North Kingsville, one son, Robert (Elizabeth) Lehtonen II of Colorado Springs, two step-daughters, Michelle Hart of Texas and Nichole (Andrew) Gillespie of Ashtabula, two sisters, Pauliina (Tom) Myers of Ashtabula and Katriina (Bruce) Radman of Daluth, GA, two brothers, Brian (Michelle) Lehtonen of Eastlake and Charles (Cheryl) Lehtonen of North Kingsville, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his beloved Chihuahua dog Bella.

            Calling hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 581 Harbor St. Conneaut, OH.

            Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Hines, of Kingsville First Baptist Church, officiating.

            Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, North Kingsville.

            Memorial contributions in Bob’s name can be made to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
