Ted E. English

August 6, 1953 ~ July 22, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years Old


Theodore E. English, age 63 of Monroe Township died Saturday, July 22, 2017 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.

 Ted was born in Conneaut on August 6, 1953 the son of Theodore W. and Delores (Castrilla) English.  He was a 1971 graduate of Conneaut High School. 

He went on to work at AC Transport and Leaseway Trucking as a truck driver.  Ted later became the owner of Ted’s Point Service Station, formerly Walt Newton’s Station, which he worked at through high school.  He then went on to become a tractor trailer driver, driving large semi-trucks throughout the country.  Ted also worked for Polchosky Excavating, Northshore Boring Company, Finlaw Construction in which he traveled making wonderful friends and for the past 10 years has been employed with Monroe Township. 

Ted was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Monroe Township Cruisers Club.  He loved traveling to local and national car shows. to show off his 1969 GTX, The Phantom, which he raced at Thompson’s Raceway and anywhere else he could.  For many years Ted enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, remodeling his house and tinkering with cars and being on Facebook and we can't forget his love for animals (spirit and wally, etc.)

Ted was known to have an eye for a “good-looking” woman and having a great time making people laugh.  He also had nick names for everyone, just ask his kids.  His goal in life was to have fun and help his family, friends and he loved helping people in the community throughout Monroe Township. 

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jeffrey English, step father Bud Briel and a great granddaughter Lanie Powell.

He is survived by his wife Janet Housel English, whom he married in 1989, a son Ted M. English (Heather Rood), daughters Michelle “Missi” (James) Williams, Crystal (Jamie) Emus, grandchildren Connor, Michael, Teddy jr, Mason, Macie Rae, Celeste and Christopher, great grandchildren Kale and Remi, sister Renea (John) Roach, and nephews J.J. Roach and Marcus Roach all of Conneaut.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Mary Church, 480 State Street, Conneaut with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Conneaut Food Pantry or the Ashtabula County APL.   Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
