Anthony (Chic) Michael Ciccone, 82, of Conneaut passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at UH Conneaut Medical Center after a short, aggressive battle with cancer.
Chic was born July 8, 1937 in Conneaut, son of Giovanni Raffaelle & Incoronata (Mirando) Ciccone and lived his entire life in Conneaut.
He was a 1955 graduate of Conneaut High School. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army where he was stationed at Fort Knox then went to Germany, at Fliegerhorst Kaserne Air Field, in Anti-Aircraft Artillery, 3rd Armored Division. Upon discharge from the Army, he worked at the State Highway and Exomet. He later went to the P & C Dock Co. where he worked for 32 years, retiring as Head Electrician in 1997.
On April 11, 1959, he married Mary Lou Izzi. This April 11th they would have been married 61 years.
Chic was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and American Legion Cowle Post 151, Conneaut, Ohio. Family was most important to him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was excited to be expecting another great-grandchild in July. Chic also found enjoyment working in his yard and took great pride in his home.
Chic was a big part of his grandchildren’s lives. When the children were younger, Chic and Mary Lou often entertained the children at their home and many times brought them to their favorite restaurants and to numerous amusement parks. Chic was a diehard Cleveland sports fan and he always believed the best seat was right at home.
Chic is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lou; two daughters, Regina Schreiber (Mark Cafone) and Tess Kelly (Michael); grandchildren, Stephanie Belcher (Will), Teryl Luce, Eric Schreiber, Sydney Cunningham (Joe Curry); one great-grandchild, Cadence Pauley; step-grandchildren Krystal Kelly, Kandace Kelly, Michael Kelly and Tauri Kelly; step-great-grandchildren Khloe and Kylie West, Elouise Kelly, and Oliver Curry; his sister Elsa Iarocci (Peter); nieces Carrie Iarocci, Roseanne Heath; and nephews Nick Iarocci, and Jeff Petrunger. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Lisa Iarocci.
In keeping with his wishes, only private services will be held.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Conneaut Fire and Rescue Department or Hospice of the Western Reserve and sent directly to Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030 where arrangements have been entrusted.
