Benjamin D. Tharp

          Benjamin D. Tharp, age 61 of Conneaut, died Thursday, July 30, 2020 under the care of Hospice.

          Benny was born on October 25, 1958 the son of Lester and Helen Golaszewski Tharp. He was a 1977 graduate of Conneaut High School. Benny was an avid auto and truck mechanic and worked at the former Nick Zappitelli Chevrolet.  He became a licensed plumber and later a Master Plumber running his own busines known as BDT plumbing.

          Benny was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and a car and truck enthusiastic.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger years and was known to always help people and no matter what the problem was, Benny could usually fix it.

          Benny was preceded in death by his mother Helen Tharp.

          He is survived by his father Lester Tharp of Conneaut, two sisters Leslie and Daniel Thomas and Nancy and Danny Sullivan all of Conneaut, brother Steve and Susan Tharp of Conneaut. A special thank you to his niece Katy Sullivan for her care of Benny during his illness, also nephews Bryan Sullivan, D.J. Sullivan, Troy (Shannon) Leavery, Scott Leavery, Steve (Deb Fields) Tharp, Jason (Kristi) Tharp, Ashley (Jason) Dello, Mackenzie (Jeremy) Coles, along with several great nieces and nephews, all of whom Benny loved so much.

         Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

         Funeral services will be held at 11:30 Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Raisian Family Funeral Home, with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

         Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

         Social distancing and masks will be required for visitation and services.

         Memorial contributions can be made to Corpus Christi Parish in Benny’s memory.
