Berniece M. Dickey, age 99 of Conneaut, died Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Jefferson Healthcare where she had resided for a brief time.
Berniece was born on December 16, 1923 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Manuel and Elizabeth Rego Raisian. She was a 1941 graduate of Conneaut High School and worked in the accounting departments of various industries in Conneaut. She was employed with Linde Wire, a division of Union Carbide in Ashtabula for 18 years as assistant to the personnel manager until her retirement.
Berniece was married in 1946 to Joe E. Dickey and they were the parents of three loving children. After retirement they became residents of Sebring, Florida for several years before returning to Ohio in 2006.
Berniece was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and attended mass and volunteered when she was able. She enjoyed her cottage flower garden, reading, needle work and being a member of the North Kingsville Garden Club, the Book and Movie Club. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Berniece was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe E. Dickey (1998), daughter Joan D. Whitney (2010), son-in-law George Whitney (2008), granddaughter Katie Whitman (2002), brothers Anthony E. Raisian, Ernest J. Raisian and Raymond R. Raisian.
She is survived by son James E. (Nancy) Dickey of Murphy, NC, daughter Jean Whitman of Conneaut, grandchildren, William (Shara) Parkomaki, Kiersten (Donald) Alexander, Charles L. Dickey, Brian Dickey, Michael Dickey, Robert J. Whitman, great-grandchildren Ian and Jenna Parkomaki, and Lauren, Garrett, and Griffin Alexander and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
