Celestine M. “Sis” Arcaro, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, September 23, 2023 on her 94th birthday at her residence.
Sis was born on September 23, 1929, in Erie, Pa., the daughter of Frank and Laura (Cacchione) Berarducci. She was a 1948 graduate of Strong Vincent High School and worked for a short time at the Boston Store in Erie. She took great pride in being a homemaker for her large family. She also operated CJ’s Quickstop store in Conneaut along with her husband.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and a very devoted Catholic. She volunteered for various church activities through the years and at the parish festivals and dinners. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and canning. She especially loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester Arcaro in 2012, brothers Sylvester Berarducci, Ron Berarducci, sister and brother-in-law Carmella and Frank Lariccia and sister and brother-in-law William and Mary Jane Smith.
She is survived by eight children, Debbie and Paul Slupski of Erie, Pa, Lisa and Bill Poff of Conneaut, Becky and Bob Frazee of Ashtabula, Chester Arcaro, Jr. of Conneaut, Greg Arcaro of Circleville, Ohio, Jon and Karen Arcaro of Conneaut, Larry and Karen Arcaro of Ashtabula, and Patrick Arcaro of Conneaut, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one aunt, Edmonda Berarducci of Erie.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
At Sis’s request, Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the funeral home with Father Raymond Thomas of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
Private burial service will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to her Care Team at ACMC, Dr. Patali and Staff, the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, the Hospice of the Western Reserve and her Nurse Angelena.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sis may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hospice of the Western Reserve or the American Cancer Society for Research.
