Cleo “Skip” M. Rudler, age 72, of Conneaut, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at UH Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland.
Cleo was born May 21, 1952, in Fort Benning, Georgia, the son of Milton and Charlotte Brown Rudler. He was a 1970 graduate of Conneaut High School, and he also lettered 4 years in wrestling. He went to work for Allied Resinous for two years and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972. He was honorably discharged in 1976, attaining the rank of a Sergeant. He returned to Conneaut and worked at Allied Resinous, Norton Plastics and Plycraft Industries and later retired from Premix Corporation in 2014. Cleo later worked for several years at the Conneaut Port Authority in the maintenance department. He was loved by all who knew him.
Skip was an avid outdoors man. He loved to go turkey hunting, deer hunting and just about any type of hunting, and fishing on Lake Erie in his boat or Conneaut Creek for steelhead trout. He enjoyed teaching others about the outdoors and how to hunt. He also taught his nieces and nephews how to call a turkey. He really enjoyed teasing others and just having a good time with all his friends and relatives. He cherished his “Taj Mahal Hunting Camp”, in Beaver Center that he and his best friend Chuck Lloyd made. He also loved to wrap presents for fun as a contest. He was a constant joker with a wonderful sense of humor and goodwill. He never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings; Skip had the highest of morals.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Linda Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne A. (Poore) Rudler, whom he married August 27, 1988, brother Doug and Patricia Rudler along with several nieces, nephews and his beloved Beagle dogs.
A Celebration of Life for Skip will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
