Daniel J. Sullivan “DJ” age 39 died Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home from complications of quadriplegia.
DJ was born in Erie, PA on July 20, 1982 the son of Daniel A. and Nancy Tharp Sullivan. He was a 2000 graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to attend Baldwin Wallace University, where he interned in Sports Information. He graduated Cum Laude earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Kent State University.
While in college, DJ worked in sports information at Baldwin Wallace University, at the former Dillard’s in the Ashtabula Mall and was a mediation intern at the Ashtabula County Courthouse.
DJ was an excellent athlete, playing baseball as a catcher and loved to play soccer. He was an avid online fantasy football and baseball player and enjoyed playing poker and home games with his friends and family. DJ loved to watch the Cleveland Browns, Indians and mixed martial arts fighting.
DJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lester and Helen Tharp, paternal grandparents Daniel and Carol Sullivan and Uncle Benjamin Tharp.
He is survived by his parents Daniel A. and Nancy Tharp Sullivan of Conneaut, brother Bryan Sullivan of Conneaut, sister Katy Sullivan of Lyndhurst, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and his good friends Joe, Jen, Stacy, Chris and Ryan Cevera. A special thank you to his caregivers Debbie English, Tammy Hagstrom and Christa Simak.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, with Deacon Nick Iarocci officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.
Masks are optional and may be used at your own discretion.
