Dennis W. McClellan

Dennis W. McClellan, age 80, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning September 6, 2023.

Dennis was born on February 24, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Hugh and Marjorie (Garvin) McClellan. He graduated from St. John High School in 1961 and attended Gannon University. Dennis then spent time traveling out west before he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1967. Dennis returned to work for the Norfolk & Western Railroad prior to working for the Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company where he retired after 30 years of service.

            Dennis, and his wife Lisa, traveled all over the world on various trips and cruises throughout the years. He also loved to vacation with his family and grandchildren. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his friends meeting for lunch and coffee every day. Dennis loved crossword puzzles, learning new technology, Christmas, and adored his dog, Buddy. 

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lawrence Bradley McClellan. He is survived by his devoted wife Lisa (Palmiero) McClellan, whom he was married to for 55 years. He was the cherished father of two daughters, Kary (Todd) Myles of Chagrin Falls and Kelly (Tony) Shaker of Avon, and the proud PaPa of four grandchildren, Elyse, Aidan, Jake Myles, and Nathan Shaker.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio. Funeral services will immediately follow with Fr. Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery with the American Legion Honor Squad conducting full military honors.
