Eddie J. Taylor

Edward “Eddie” J. Taylor of Conneaut, Ohio, age 66, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023 at the Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

Eddie was born on October 16, 1956 in Conneaut, the son of Edward and Lenore (Muchiarone) Taylor.  Eddie was a 1975 graduate of Conneaut High School and a 1978 graduate of Youngstown State University where he attained his associates degree in electrical engineering.  He worked at Fives Landis Corporation for 42 years and made many friends along the way as a service engineer. 

Eddie was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Lake Erie Boat Club.  He enjoyed playing men’s slow-pitch, hunting and was an avid fisherman.  He especially enjoyed the many trips out on Lake Erie with friends and family on the “Taylormaid”.  Many hours were devoted to coaching his children in baseball and softball.  For many years, Eddie volunteered at the CHS Football games on the "chain gang".  He was a devoted Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed gardening and restoring old cars.  Eddie loved spending time with friends and family, he loved his brothers and sister very much, but most of all Eddie enjoyed being a grandfather and cherished every moment he spent with Jack and Smith.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by the love of his life, Michelle (Laituri) whom he married on September 21, 1985, his children Christie (Aaron) Joslin of Conneaut, Cory Taylor of Conneaut and Nicole Taylor of Columbus, beloved grandchildren Jack and Smith Joslin of Conneaut, 4 brothers, Michael Taylor of Andover, Jimmy (Brenda Ramig) Taylor of Espyville, PA, Joseph (Maureen) Taylor of Westerville, OH and Kenny Taylor of Middletown, OH, and one sister, Mary Ruth (Dave) Holdson of Conneaut, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish, St. Francis Cabrini Church with Father Philip Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.

Memorial contributions can be made in Eddie’s name to Corpus Christi Parish or C.L.Y.O.
