Ernestine Joanne Petz

Ernestine Joanne Petz age 75 passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Walnut Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Erie, PA., from ALS Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Joanne was born on December 10, 1946, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Michael and Adeline Nappi Vendetti.  She was a 1964 graduate of Conneaut High School. In 1971 Joanne opened Joanne Petz School of Dance until her retirement in 1995. Joanne and Jerry moved to Melbourne, Florida for a few years, then Columbus and Erie, Pa., to be near family. Joanne enjoyed traveling and day trips. She enjoyed the outdoors and beautiful scenery. Joanne loved ballroom dancing, walking, and socializing with friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and puzzles.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Dylan in 2018.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Petz whom she married August 6, 1966, daughter Alicia (Steve) Maenpaa, son Jerry “JJ” (Kari) Petz, brother Anthony (Twyla) Vendetti, sister Marie (Robert) Beckwith, grandchildren Samantha, Brady, Macen and A.J. and several nieces and nephews.

 Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 12:00 Noon on Monday, October 24, 2022, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. A burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, North Kingsville.
