Ethel M (Chase) Kightlinger

Ethel Mae Kightlinger, age 85 of Conneaut, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past five years.

Ethel was born on March 26, 1929 in in Albion, PA, the daughter of Lewis and Gladys Dunbar Wimer Chase. She attended school in the Albion area and later worked at the Kingsville Truck Stop, the Keystone Truck Stop, State Line Restaurant and Ashby's Delicatessen. Ethel enjoyed the "Lawrence Welk Show", listening to the "Gathers" and her favorite show to watch was "Days of Our Lives". She also loved to travel to Florida to see her family and spend time with her children, grandchildren, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Kightlinger, whom she married in 1947, and a half-brother Lewis Chase.

Ethel is survived by three sons, Leroy and Lila Kightlinger of Conneaut, Melvin Kightlinger of Ashtabula, Walter Kightlinger of Conneaut, two daughters, Norma and Patrick Hagerty of Conneaut, Betty and Tom Stone of Madison, two sisters Arlene Horton of Conneaut, Helen Hannah of Orlando, Florida, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday morning, December 8, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio.

Funeral services will also be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 following calling hours at 12:00 Noon at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Carson Robson of the Church of God officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, North Kingsville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
