Flora DiNunzio age 95 of Conneaut passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022, at Lake Point Nursing and Rehab.
Flora was born on May 3, 1926, in Conneaut the daughter of Frank and Frances Stegovec Turk. Flora's family moved to Slovenia (formerly Yugoslavia) when she was a small girl. She attended school in Slovenia and Italy. Upon her return to Conneaut, she met the love of her life, Louis DiNunzio, Sr. whom she married October 23, 1948, at St. Mary Church, Conneaut, Ohio.
Flora was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and attended St. Frances Cabrini Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved gardening and was very proud of her flower garden. Flora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was named a “domestic engineer” by her family.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis DiNunzio, Sr., brothers Antonio Turk, Miro Turk, sister Vera Turk, brother-in-law Anthony DiNunzio, sisters-in-law Dolores Turk, Ida Armeni, Helen Bohach and Florence DiNunzio Jabaily.
She is survived by her daughter Louise (Denny) Gustafson, of Conneaut, son Louis (Rosemarie Vernon) DiNunzio of Newton, N.C., grandchildren Vicki (Darryl) Portzer of Reedsville, WV., Danielle (Nick) Galantis of Campbell, Ohio, Denny Gustafson Jr., of Conneaut, Louis III of Charlotte, NC, Caraline of Addis, Ethiopia, five great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Hannah Portzer, Alexandra and Nicole Galantis and Arabella Gustafson, also surviving are her sister Mary Turk Kuzma of Croatia, sister-in-law Patricia DiNunzio Adams of Conneaut, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St, Conneaut with Fr. Philip Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions can be made to Corpus Christi Parish or to Bella Care Hospice.
