Gary R. Holdson

Obituary

          Gary R. Holdson age 63 died Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

          Gary was the son of Paul and Jean (Price) Holdson of West Springfield, PA born on March 15, 1957 at Brown Memorial Hospital.  Gary became an Eagle Scout the highest achievement in the Scouts BSA program in 1972 as a member of Troop #144, part of becoming an Eagle Scout, Gary built a homemade dog sled with his Grampa Bob.  He was a graduate of Northwestern High School in 1975.  Gary was self-employed in the industrial safety business and was the owner/operator of Applied Process Safeguarding for over 25 years.

          In his younger years, Gary enjoyed motocross racing with his brothers and riding his Harley Davidson with his wife, family and friends. Gary really enjoyed throughout his life, traveling, NASCAR racing, and target shooting.  Gary loved to BBQ for family and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents.

          Gary is survived by his wife Brenda (King) Holdson of Jefferson, sons Wesley (Erica Morelli) Holdson of Ashtabula, Kevin (Heather) Holdson of Kernersville, NC, Eric Holdson of Richmond, VA and, Eric Johnson of Conneaut, daughter Jaime (Cory) of Halfmann of New Ulm, Texas.  Brothers; Walter (Chuppie) Holdson of West Springfield, PA, Dave (Mary Ruth) Holdson of Conneaut, Brian (Carol) Baum of Danville, WV, and sister Chris (Brian) Griffey of West Springfield.  Aunt Betty (Barry) Ritchie of Salisbury, NC and six grandchildren Abriana, Rowan, Declan, Levi, Luke and Nolan, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

          Due to Covid-19 and concern for the public’s health and safety, the family has requested to have private services at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio.

          Gary will take his final ride on a Harley Davidson later this year to East Springfield Cemetery followed by a BBQ Party for his family and friends to celebrate Gary’s life.    

          Memorial contributions in Gary’s memory may be made to the UH Conneaut Capital Fund for Seidman Expansion and mailed to: University Hospitals Institutional Relations and Development, P.O. Box 94554, Cleveland, OH  44101-4554.
