Gertrude M. Beno

Gertrude M. Beno, age 94 formerly of Conneaut, died January 26, 2023, at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home where she had been a resident for the past several years.

Gert was born on May 6, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Alex and Anna Balase Weizer. She was a 1945 graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School and later met and married her late husband Alex Beno on October 19, 1946, in Cleveland.

She moved to Conneaut and worked at the former Astatic Corporation. She raised her family and was a loving and devoted mother and housewife.

Gert was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and regularly attended mass at St. Frances years ago. She enjoyed walking and exercising. Gert was very proud of her 30 years as a Conneaut Tops Club Member. 

Gert was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alex Beno in 1989, brother Bernard Weizer and sisters Ann Rose Weinborer and Catherine Toth.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Triana of Northeast, PA, Diane (Clarence) Estep of Punta Gorda, Florida, three grandchildren, Jamie Triana, Stacie Triana and Sara Triana and five great-grandchildren Ashley, Alex, Alexis, Lilyauna and Calla, five great-great grandchildren Sophia, Alba, Leda, Toby, and Saylor and sister Mildred Kilo of Berea, Oh.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 3, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut, Ohio.

Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street with Fr. Phillip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
