Harry "Bill" Cooper Obituary

          Harry William “Bill” Cooper age 87 died January 14, 2021 at his home.

          Bill was born on February 20, 1933 in Carlisle, Pa the son of William and Madelyn (Bortz) Cooper.  He was a graduate of Carlisle High School and the police academy in 1950 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.  He worked many years in the foundry industry and loved to cook up a storm in the kitchen. He spent many of the cold winter months in North Port, FL.  He had a trusting heart to help anyone down on their luck, a passion for fishing and tinkering with anything he got his hands on from lawnmowers, cars, boats and houses. He truly was a man that never stopped.

          Bill was a lifetime member of the Lake Erie Boat Club and also the American Legion.         

          He was preceded in death by his parents William L. Cooper, mother Madeline Bortz, stepfather Clifford Bortz, wife Patricia L. (Brunot) Cooper, daughter Stephane Cooper and son Jeff Poland and son-in-law Michael Valenti.

          Bill is survived by daughters Patricia (Aaron) Byrd of Concord, NC, Michelle Valenti of Conneaut, Cheryl Cooper of Ocala, FL and Margo Cooper, sons Ted (Pat) Poland of Conneaut, Billy Cooper of Conneaut, Clifford Cooper of Ocala, FL, Jesse (Tammy) Cooper of Seagertown, PA and Kenny Poland of Erie, PA, sister Betty (Sam) Petruso of Erie, PA, brother Donald Cooper of Meadville, PA, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren that he loved dearly and his beloved dog Sammie that never left his side.

          At Bill’s request no services will be held.

Memorial contributions can be made to Adoration Hospice ~ 6133 Rockside Road Suite 405 Independence OH 44131 or the American Cancer Society.

          The Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut has been entrusted with his arrangements.
