Harry "Denny" Dennis Gustafson

          Harry Dennis Gustafson age 75 of Conneaut died unexpectedly on Monday, December 12, 2022 at his home.

          Denny was born on October 14, 1947 in Titusville, PA the son of Allen and Edna McGuire Gustafson.  He was a 1966 graduate of Conneaut High School and entered the United States Army until he was honorably discharge in 1970.  Denny went to work as patrolman for the Conneaut Police Department where he served for over 25 years and retired as Lieutenant.  He also worked at the P & C Dock Co. as a policeman for 10 years, Lake Erie Correctional Facility and the Conneaut Municipal Court as a bailiff. 

          Denny was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, Local F.O.P. Lodge 51, and the NRA.  Denny enjoyed going to the shooting range and golfing.  In his younger years he enjoyed weightlifting and playing softball.

          He especially loved the time he spent with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

          Denny was preceded in death by his parents.

          He is survived by his loving wife Louise DiNunzio Gustafson whom he married May 10, 1974, son Denny Gustafson, Jr. of Conneaut, daughters Vicki (Darryl) Portzer of Reedsville, WV, Danielle (Nick) Galantis of Campbell, OH, brothers Robert (Carmela) Gustafson of The Villages, FL, James (Rita) McNabb of Indiana, sister Diana (Jim) Greer of Conneaut, grandchildren Hanna Portzer, Cassie Portzer, Alexandra Galantis, Nicole Galantis, Arabella Gustafson, brother-in-law Louis (Rosemarie) DiNunzio of Newton, NC and several nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

          Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

          Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut where the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
