Helen M. (Jablecki) Goode

Helen Goode (Jablecki), age 95 of North Kingsville passed away early Friday morning, July 22, 2022 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, following a brief stay.  She was born April 28, 1927 to parents Stephen and Mary Anna Jablecki of Kingsville.

Helen worked at Firestone in Ashtabula for years as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church where she was the organist for many years.  Helen played for countless weddings, funerals, and Masses.  She also volunteered at the Ashtabula County Nursing home for over 30 years.

She was married at St. Andrews by Rev. J.J. Elias on June 14, 1952 to Myron Goode until his passing in June of 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stanley and Walter, her sister Jean and an infant son.

She is survived by her children Susan (David) Jost and Gary Goode, both of whom reside in Texas, grandchildren Benjamin Jost, (Texas) and Andrea (Ben) Ockert (Michigan) and great granddaughter Helena Ockert (Michigan).

Helen led a full life and was known to enjoy car trips, playing cards, gardening and canning, garage sales, puzzles and a nice cold beer. In her later years her life was enriched by visits from friends and neighbors and talking on the phone with life-long friends.  We will miss her but are so grateful for the many years we had with her.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 12:00 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.

Helen will be buried next to her husband Myron at Kelloggville Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to either Ashtabula County Meals on Wheels, 6920 Austinburg Rd., Ashtabula, OH 44004 or the Kingsville Public Library, 6006 Academy St., Kingsville, OH  44048. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
