Obituary

James F. Robison, age 74, of Conneaut passed away peacefully at home with his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jim was born on September 4, 1948, in Conneaut the son of James W. and Janis Joslin Robison.  He was a 1966 graduate of Conneaut High School.  He worked for 37 years as a maintenance technician retiring from Millenium Chemicals in 2005.  After retirement he owned and operated Ashta Home Inspection for several years.  He was known and loved for his quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor.

Jim and his wife, Sue, spent many years after retirement wintering at their home in Venice, FL, where they had many dear friends, including several other Conneaut retirees.  He had a passionate love of Lake Erie and knew every freighter that came into port.  He and his wife, Sue, made many happy memories visiting the locks on the Great Lakes and the Welland Canal.  They also enjoyed traveling with his mother to different destinations, but the most memorable was their trip to Ireland.  Jim’s family has always been first and foremost in his life.  He loved spending time with them and his ever-growing number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James W. Robison in 2002, and his grandson, Cody J. Robison in 1998.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Dittler Robison, whom he married on March 29, 2005, his mother, Janis Robison, his children, Kelly (Jason) Cicon, Kerry (John) White, James (Kristen) Robison, stepsons, Michael (Amy) Rockwell, Bryan (Breanna) Rockwell, and Adam (Andrea) Rockwell, his siblings, John (Eileen) Robison, Julia Notte, Joseph (Becky) Robison, Jerome (Natalie) Robison and Jennifer Robison.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Colin (Kelly) Cicon, Conor Cicon (Faith), Caden Cicon (Katie), Morgan (Michael) Mullins, Whitney (Zack) Ghara, Jayden White, Jimmy Robison (Cassidy), Ryan Robison, Lincoln and Declan Rockwell, Addison and Courtney Rockwell, Dani and Finley Rockwell, as well as great-grandchildren, Brayden Ghara, Matthew Mullins, August Cicon, Walker James Cicon and Quinn Rose Ghara, due in January.

He is also survived by his paternal aunt Betty Robison, and numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in Jim’s memory be made to Matthew 25, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut, OH 44030.
