Jean M. McFadden, age 85, of Conneaut, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Ashtabula County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She had a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
Jean was born on October 10, 1938, in Conneaut, the daughter of John L. and Mary Wilson Specht. She graduated from Austinburg High School and later worked at Deck Vending in the cafeteria, at Bailey’s Corporation.
Jean was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a nurturing babysitter to many. She loved to take care of everyone around her. She was proud of her family and was known as “the best mom” to all. While living at the Conneaut Manor, she enjoyed spending her time with many neighbors and friends.
Jean was a member of The Catholic Daughters of America and Corpus Christi Parish. She enjoyed going to mass and would volunteer many hours helping with various projects over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert W. McFadden, (2001) her brother Samuel Specht. Stepsons Robert S. McFadden and William McFadden.
Jean is survived by daughters, Christine Tomko (Bob Leffel) of Geneva, Diana (Ron) Urch of Conneaut, Kathleen (Robert) Denton of Hertford, NC, Karen (Timothy) Shaffer of West Springfield, Sandra McFadden of Conneaut, stepson Dan McFadden, two stepdaughters Dolores Wolf, Ella Williams, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday July 22, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 at the Raisian Funeral Home. 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at St Francis Cabrini Church, with Father Phillip Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
She was lovingly cared for by the staff and her peers while residing at ACNRC. In her final days, she was also in the care of the Western Reserve Hospice Team. Our family will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to us by all.
