JoAnn D. Leardi age 82 of Kingsville died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
JoAnn was born on January 13, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of T. Samuel and Rose (Lepore) Traino. She was a 1954 graduate of Chaney High School. JoAnn married her husband Vito Leardi on August 24, 1957 and spent her life raising her family. She was also the owner and operator with her husband Vito of Locust Lane Camp Grounds in Conneaut from 1976 to 1995.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, the Ladies Guild, she taught C.C.D. and was very actively involved with the church. JoAnn enjoyed gardening, feeding birds and she especially loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vito Leardi in 2018, son Richard Leardi in 1979, sisters Lena Caimono, Ann Sibeto, Mary Mester, and infant sister and brother Joe Traino.
She is survived by a son Louis Leardi of Conneaut, two daughters Barbara Estes and Sandy (Terry) Moisio both of Conneaut, 8 grandchildren Janet Estes, Dana Estes, Kelley Estes, A.J. Ford, Taylor Moisio, Krystal (Gabe) Sleigh, Rachael Moisio, Jared Moisio and 11 great grandchildren.
The family of JoAnn would like to thank the staff of the Villa at the Lake, the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and the Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and compassion given to JoAnn during her illness.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut where arrangements are being handled.
