John C. Aho

John C. Aho, age 72 of Conneaut, died Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Lantern of Saybrook.

John was born on March 16, 1952, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Eugene and Lillian (Adams) Aho.

John was a 1970 graduate of Conneaut High School and attended Kent State University. He went to work at the Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company and retired from there after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator and crane operator. John was well known for playing softball with Chateau Lounge, Dr. Feelgood’s and the Long Ride teams over the years of slow-pitch. He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post 151 and the Conneaut Moose Lodge. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved going to concerts and Indians games.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife Christine Zielinski Aho, whom he married September 20, 1991, daughter Reina Duerinckx of Dallas, Texas, and granddaughter Alexis McArthur.

A Celebration of John’s life is being planned for July 5, 2024, at the American Legion, from 4:00-7:00 pm. The Raisian Funeral Home, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
